Swan's Nest Maze

Design and construction of interpretative landscape sculpture as part of a series of works interpreting nests and habitats of wetland species. The swans nest is a 40m diameter earthwork with hedge banks planted with live willow creating an intricate maze which leads into a central area where people discover a series of large stone egg sculptures containing carved alabaster representations of the three main stages of swan embryo development. The final elements are a series of egg shell fragments which provide informal seating within this sheltered area.
