WELLY BOOT LAND SERVERY

Welly Boot Land is a new interactive water play area for the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust’s centre at Slimbridge which opened to the public on 19th July, 2008.

The Servery provides hot and cold snacks and drinks for visitors which can be delivered through two hatches servicing both the play area and the main thoroughfare of the grounds. The ample, extended eaves of this hexagonal structure provides generous shade as well as protection from wet weather.

The project included a Water Reed Fence which is an advancement of one of our previous, highly acclaimed designs used at the Explore educational play area at The London Wetland Centre, Barnes.

Global Impacts undertook the design development and detailed design as well as providing the construction supervision in conjunction with Coed Dinefwr Timber Constuction. Both elements were constructed with locally sourced Douglas Fir.
